A precinct caucus is to be held in each precinct in Minnesota every 2 years, in even numbered years -- 2012, 2014, etc. In 2014 the caucus will fall on Tuesday, February 4 at 7:00PM. There will be information available starting at 6:30PM.
The basic purpose of the precinct caucus is to give Party members an opportunity to be heard and to hear the views of others. It is the first step in the process that ultimately adopts the State Party Platform, selects the Party’s officers and endorses candidates for state and national offices. The precinct caucus should be conducted so there is ample opportunity for discussion. The atmosphere should be one that will encourage an exchange of ideas in a neighborhood meeting.
